Nando kimi ni, ketsu mazuitemo modottekichau, aijou ni I hurt myself because of you, over and over; but my love didn't go away--it kept coming back.
Light shone on his face from some window in some wall. Squeezing his eyes shut, he tried to avoid the light that was calling him back to wakefulness. He didn't want to come back to life; he was still so tired. He had no idea what time it was as he opened his eyes to a room lit by sunlight that streamed in from a window not far away. He groaned. Somehow he had shifted into a laying position on his back, stretched out on the couch rather than slumped over the arm. The pillow and blanket lay, unused, on the floor. He was still in the white t-shirt and tan shorts that he had worn yesterday and his shoes were still on his feet. His head was pounding, but he felt better now that he had given his body a little bit of rest. Still, he couldn't seem to completely grasp what had happened last night. A few images of an ambulance and then the police flashed through his mind before a strage picture arose. He recognized it immedidiately for what it was; a knife. Then everything that had happened last night flodded back into his mind, the picture of the man and Jamie on the ground more prominent than all of the others.
Suddenly he sat straight up and looked around. He was still in Jamie's apartment! He needed to get home right away - he souldn't be here, but she wouldn't let him go and he had not had the strength to fight her last night. They had only met yesterday, but he had saved her life. That was right. He remembered everything as if he had just lived it a few moments ago and shuddered with fear and agony. He didn't want to remember what had happened last night. But then he groaned. His head still hurt and he was dizzy. The ceiling disappeared and the floor was suddenly heading right for him as he plumeted to the ground, unable to stop himself from falling off the couch. He hit the ground with a thud. Adding insult to injury was something that people talked about a lot. Well, this was adding injury to injury. He stared at the floor, laying on his side after the fall, thinking about how he should try and get up but left without the willpower to try.

Jamie Jamie drempt little that night. The dreams that she did have were foggy and were not clear enough for her to understand. Jamie woke up around 6:30. She laid under her comferter and stared up onto her ceiling. Jamie then realized what had all happened last night. Flash backs of her being carried on the bulky guy's shoulder, being told that he had a knife, being thrown on the ground and then him trying to take off her shirt. Jamie also remembered Ashton coming out of know where, and helping her get from his grasp. Jamie then remembered the man was arrested. She had looked the guy in the eyes as the cruiser pulled away. The anger in his eyes, made Jamie want to cry. But instead of crying, just sighed and decided to get up. She was not going to get much more sleep than that.
After forcing herself out of bed, Jamie opened her door, but headed for the kitchen. She had forgot all about Ashton, until she heard a thud that sounded like it was coming from the living room. She peaked in the living room, and found Ashton on the ground. Immedietally, she ran over to him, kneeled down and asked, Are you alright? Her eyebrows furrowed, and she had a questionable look on her face. Jamie put her hand on his back gently. She did not know what had happened, but she would have liked to know. Are you still dizzy? Jamie sighed and waited for a reply. She wanted to help him up, but maybe, he should just stay on the floor. Jamie also realized that she would most likely need to help him get home, or he might just kill himself, trying to get home by himself.

It took him a few moments to regain control of his senses after his fall onto the hard floor of Jamie's apartment. Maybe it was Jamie's touch on his back that brought him back down to earth, into his own body and out of half-awakeness. He didn't shrug her hand from his back as he might have before. It made him feel better to know there was someone besides his mom that cared whether he was okay or not. Friends and certainly never been that kind hearted toward him. Was that what he and Jamie were now? Friends? He began the slow process of trying to get back upright on his still-dazed body that wanted to stay on he floor where it might find sleep again. But he was stronger now and found it much easier to fight that feeling than he had last night. So long as Jamie did not feel he was sick and he needed to stay there longer he wouldn't have any problems getting back to his own apartment and laying down in his bed.
He managed to sit up, leaning forward instead of against the couch. The floor was harder than he had realized and he hurt now. I'm fine, he said, shaking his head to clear his vision and rid himself of what was left of any dizzy feeling. I'm not that dizzy anymore, he said, lying a little. He was still a bit dizzy from the neck wound. And that particular wound was hurting a lot at the moment, though he was doing his best to ignore it. He started to turn his head toward her but winced. he couldn't move it, and he wasn't about to try anymore. He sighed. I should go home now. He was fairly certain that he could take care of himself just fine in his own apartment, even if his head still hurt and he couldn't turn his neck. His body was more sore than he remembered, but that was most likely from the beating that it had taken on his way here last night and the fall from the couch that morning.

Jamie Jamie watched Ashton for a few minutes. He said he was alright, but did he really mean it?Well if I was in his place, I would probably say I was fine too. Jamie sighed but kept her hand on his back. She watched the side of his face, and when he began to sit up, Jamie then removed her hand from his back. She sat down on her knees, and watched him for a moment. If your neck and body still hurt, will you take some medicine home with you, and take it? It will help you ease the pain, so you are not in so much pain. Jamie stood to her feet, and went into the kitchen. She looked through her bottles of medicine and grabbed on in the far right corner of the cabnet. Jamie closed the cabnet, and went to a drawer to grab a sandwich baggie. Jamie dumped in five or six pills into the baggie, and sealed it up. Jamie walked back to where Ashton was, with the baggie of pills in her hand. Once she reached Ashton, Jamie knelt down onto her knees to face Ashton. She sat in front of him, so he did not need to try and turn his neck to look at her. Here, take theses. They are non-drowsy, and they will make you stop hurting for the time being. Jamie put the baggie down in front of Ashton for him to grab. She set it on the ground, and sighed. Jamie hoped that Ashton would just take them and not be stubborn about it. It will also help with the dizziness. Jamie half smiled and added, If you need some night medicine, like the kind I gave you last night, just let me know, and I will give some to you. Jamie smiled to Ashton, and waited for a reply.

Defiant, as always, Ashton looked at the medicine with contempt before taking it grudgingly. No point in causing something like last night all over again. She seemed to be big on taking medicine for pains, something he rarely did. I don't need medicine, he said grufly, stuffing the pills into a pocket in his shorts. Believing that there was no more for him to do here, he began to struggle to his aching feet slowly, wobbling a bit as he came to a full stand, but managing to regain balance before walking toward the door. Nothing happened this time. He didn't run into any door frames and he made it to the door in one place. Turning, he said, See? I'm fine. He grinned, trying to be convincing as he ignored the pain in his neck, legs, and feet. I suppose I'll see you again eventually, he said with a frown, remembering the promise he had made to her last night about dinner at seven on Saturday. I mean, since we live so close to each other, I mean, he added quickly, hoping she would forget about that. He began to unlock the door to head outside, fumbling with the lock a little with shaky hands.

Jamie Jamie smiled once he took the pills. She was not surprised by his reaction as he took the pills, but she was just glad he took them. Well, they're there if you need them. Jamie was a little sad, when she realized he was going home. She had, had quite an explerience with him, the night before, and would like to introduce herself to him, without all the drama, and attempted kidnapping. She wanted to talk to him, and hang out with him and to get to know him, like two "friends" would. Yeah, I guess I'll see you around. Jamie watched as Ashton made his way to the door. I'll see you on Saturday at seven. Don't forget. Jamie smiled at him, reassuring him that she had not forgotten. Secretly, Jamie hoped that they would see each other sooner than Saturday. Before he left, Jamie had stood up, and walked over to him. She smiled at him, a goodbye smile.

He managed to open the door as she spoke to him. His face would have fallen, but he didn't frown. Rather, he smiled weakly at her. I haven't forgotten, he assured her, secretly wishing that she had forgotten. Goodbye, he said as he closed the door behind him. The walk to his apartment - which was only a short distance away - seemed to take forever on his weak legs, but he was there, unlocking his door, within a few minutes. He stepped into his familiar apartment and sighed with relief, heading for his room immediately after closing and locking the door. He changed, slipped his shoes off, and took some pills to help with the pain. They were the non-drowsy ones that Jamie had given him before he had left. He didn't need something that was going to make him drowsy anyways. As he lay down on his soft, inviting bed and covered himself with the covers that caressed his body softly he fell into a deep sleep, filled with nightmares of all sorts of things, but Jamie's death was present most of all.
